Dude, I applied to host a Duncan Hines party because what else do you do when one of your babies is napping and the other is sucking a bottle and HOLDING IT HIMSELF at 3 months old?!?
I saw it on my friend Jenn’s Facebook and went for it because let me tell you something – parties and playdates are my thang right now. They’re just what I do to sort out the monotony that is diapers, bottles, sippies, blocks, rattles.
I had already seen Duncan Hines Party Creations on their Facebook not too long ago and thought it sounded fun. Now listen… I’m a homemade frosting kind of gal (all of my cupcakes for sale have a huge dollop of homemade frosting only). However, we don’t always have time for that realistically, or some people even prefer the taste of store-bought frosting because it’s what they’re used to. I know my mother-in-law LOVES cupcakes from Walmart because she likes their buttercream.
So you might be wondering how it works. Basically there is a “base frosting” that you buy, and then you can purchase flavored add-ins such as:
-Cherry Vanilla
-Chocolate Almond
-Mint Chocolate
-White Chocolate Raspberry
Um… yes please? Plus I think kids would love to pick their frosting flavor & add it in, too. Everly always wants to help and I know this is something she could actually do that is pre-measured and can’t be “messed up”. Last time I let her help mix the egg-laden batter for my cupcakes and it was salmonella-threat of the century up in my kitchen.
Food borne illness. I fearz it.
So yes – if I get the opportunity to host the Duncan Hines Frosting Creations House Party then I’m going to do a bakery theme, I believe. I’ll let you know if I get picked – don’t I let you guys know everything?
If I don’t get picked, I’ll probably host it anyway because I’m a REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSEEEEE.

From what I understand, hosting a party anyway may help you get picked next time! I was a member there but got tired of applying for everything lol. But with your playdates and other parties, I’m sure it won’t be long before you’re picked, if for some odd reason you aren’t chosen for this one. I can’t imagine a more qualified host for this kind of party, though!
FYI – The next time we come down that way, I expect some of your fantastic cupcakes. I will return the favor if you come up this way with.. I dunno.. a lasagna or something lol
