Frosting Creations Party Success

So I had my Duncan Hines Frosting Creations party through House Party, and it was a success! Though we were all kind of over-sugared by the end of it because we wanted to try all of the frostings and there were so many. I basically slipped into a coma and was unresponsive by the end of the festivities, as was Nicole considering she zoned out and could not hear the words I was saying for about 3 full minutes.

Now that’s what I call a success.

Some of the favorite flavors were Chocolate Marshmallow, Orange Creme, Strawberry Shortcake, and Caramel.  One of the least favorites at my house was Cherry Vanilla and another was White Chocolate Raspberry – I think people felt they tasted kind of medicinal? But I liked the Cherry Vanilla and didn’t mind the White Chocolate Raspberry, though I didn’t really taste the White Chocolate in it that much. Then again I used to eat Luden’s cough drops like candy so maybe I like medicinal?

For activities I had the Tasting Notes, a Guess the # of Jellybeans game, and a Get-to-Know-You activity since my party had a mix of friends and strangers. The rest of the party naturally shaped itself, and some of my ladies were veryyyy serious about their taste-testing… not naming any names DESTIN AND JODI.

For the menu I had Strawberry Shortcake cream-filled cupcakes, Orange Creme frosting shots (frosting, Cool Whip, chocolate chips), Caramel Banana brownies, Chocolate Almond brownies, Cherry Vanilla cookie sandwiches, and Chocolate Marshmallow graham crackers with mini-marshmallows on top. Then I had a bunch of naked cupcakes and a bowl that held three frostings: Mint Chocolate, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Cotton Candy. I used the other 3 frostings as favors/prizes (Mocha, Cinnamon Roll, and Bubblegum).

I loved having this excuse to throw a party (we had another excuse, too – our friend Jodi’s birthday), and I hope I have more House Party parties to tell you about in the future! Because we all know I need lots of reasons to buy cheap party supplies and stress out over tiny details and force people to answer personal questions about themselves while they eat cupcakes. :)

And later that night we got to watch Kentucky secure their position in the NCAA National Championship! WOOT WOOT!

Thanks everyone that came & thanks to Duncan Hines and House Party!
