Baby Olympics

Today was Baby Olympics with my playgroup. We are the most active Meetup group in the state of Kentucky, and we gotta live up to our potential, mmk? Part of that potential means we don’t just do pretzel and juice playdates, we go all out into theme-land and dig our freak flag deep into the ground, baby.

There was a torch.

Destin and Jennifer were the hosts and made these adorable Olympic-themed snacks & decorations. There was an official Olympic sign for every activity. Notice how the fruit mimics the Olympic rings? Yeah. Legit.

Evie and Beckett had some really passionate competition going on during the basketball event. Unfortunately Beckett was shooting the ball the wrong way and attempting to consume it, so Evie fairly easily took the gold medal.

Everly & Sam worked the concession stand & security, keeping the spectators fed and at bay. Instead of staff shirts, they sported official Team USA pacifiers.

There were about 16 of us mamas and our babies there and I’d say it’s a pretty good way to kick-off the Olympic games. Only none of us even knew when the opening ceremonies started.

I was telling Nicole how Billy & I got married during the Olympics four years ago. I’ll never forget hearing what happened when we had our first kiss as husband and wife. Billy’s groomsmen pulled score cards out of their jackets and held them up for the guests. That Russian judge was particularly harsh, in my opinion.

Really at this point I think the babies kinda WISH it would just be juice & crackers. Usually they all stare at us like we’re crazy when we do this junk, but we love it.

And your wedding pic: Flipping brilliant! I love it.
