These cake pops are incredible, and she doesn’t use fondant or gum paste. She also hand-shapes everything so no candy molds are used:

Speaking of no fondant… did you know our wedding cake only used fondant for the flowers & ribbons (the light pink part of the cake). The rest of it is buttercream that she got incredibly smooth and then rolled with a tool. Can you believe it?

Now that I’ve shown a bunch of pictures of yums, I’ll tell you that I’ve been counting my calories for about 2 weeks now, and it has been very successful but it’s no way to enjoy life long-term. It can get pretty annoying to log in and figure out portion sizes, etc. which maybe is the point because sometimes I don’t sneak any spoonfuls of whatever I’m making because I have no idea how to count those calories. But yes, My Fitness Pal has been great and I know I’ll reach my final goal weight very soon and then just maintain for… forever? Or until I get pregnant again, if that time should come.

Everly has been doing much better at her “school”. This picture was taken on the first day and I had no idea what to expect from her, but most times I get sent home with a report that says she was, “happy” and “quiet” and at the bottom they circle that she had a “great” day. She’s gone from 9-2 and when I pick her up, we act like we haven’t seen each other in ages. The only difficulty we’ve had with it is getting her ready/out the door in the morning and her refusing to nap. She does sit on her nap mat and play quietly, but that kinda breaks my heart. Afterwards she sometimes has a rough day/night where she’s so tired.

Beckett got to experience the baby pool for the first time and decided to swim and try to bury his face under the water several times. He loves it. It has been so horribly hot this summer that I have barely taken them out other than early morning, and watching them both alone while they swim can be a little daunting so I’ve avoided it, but I’m glad we finally gave it a go.

I got chosen again by House Party to host a LEGO Duplo party and the planning has already started. Is there a way to be a counselor that bakes people cupcakes and plans their parties for them? Because maybe that would be my dream job.
I don’t use Pinterest much to plan parties, though. It spoils the fun because everyone that follows you knows what to expect when they show up! So I have been oldschool saving pictures to my desktop and taking notes in Notepad like a granny.
Finally, since posting the picture of my wedding cake got me thinking about it… did you know I was the designated driver for my bridesmaids in a mini-van on the day of my wedding?

Buncha butt faces.

And don’t worry, two of them are getting married in the next year and the other one is having a baby… so I have plentyyyyyy of time for payback and have already been planning. ;)

I used MFP everyday for four months. You can live like that. Maybe not keeping track everyday, but I learned so much about portion size and my stomach shrank–like, literally. As in I could physically not eat as much as I use to.
I just don’t think I can keep it up, Jackie. It makes me feel kind of neurotic about what I’m eating… does that make sense? But yes, yes, yes it has taught me so much about portion-size (so did Nutrisystem). I totally agree with that! I’ve also recognized patterns of unhealthy eating, which has been helpful (I binge when I’ve not eaten much for breakfast, I eat lots of sugar around times my kids are waking up from naps/I’m tired).
Definitely get how it can make you neurotic. Some of the wording on there is bad. Like how it scolds you of depriving yourself if you are five calories under your goal, but then says how you won’t lose as much weight if you are five calories over.
I hate the thing that tells you how much you’ll weigh if you eat like that every day in 5 weeks. Cause on the good days I’m like, “OMG YES!” and on the bad days it sucks.
