If you really want to know what’s going on in someone’s life… just ask.
I’m always grateful when someone asks me, are you?
Sometimes it’s when I finally let it all spill out. Sometimes I don’t feel like saying a word.
But the point is – they asked, I feel cared about, it’s a gesture of kindness.
I’m learning to practice what I preach, are you?
I am working on saying: “What did you do today? Are you feeling okay?”
To everyone. My husband (because I take those simple questions for granted) and my family. My friends.
My baby girl when she’s going to sleep. “Was your day happy? Did you have fun?”
Stop and ask people and then listen. Don’t wait for a pause so I can reply.
I’m workin’ on it.
